Scapular Mobilization for Frozen Shoulder in Richmond Hill

 What Is Scapular Mobilization?

The scapula is a triangular bone that connects your upper arm, neck, and trunk muscles. When it doesn’t move properly, it can cause pain, stiffness, and loss of range of motion.

Scapular mobilization is a hands-on osteopathic technique where a trained practitioner gently or firmly mobilizes the shoulder blade to improve its movement. During treatment:

  • The patient lies on their side
  • The osteopath uses specific motions to glide and rotate the scapula in different directions
  • This encourages normal joint mechanics and improved mobility

It’s particularly effective for those dealing with frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis), post-injury stiffness, or postural dysfunction.
